Son of Yosef and Tahora, one of the founders of Kibbutz Naan. He was born on the 3rd of October 1948 in the kibbutz, at the height of the War of Independence, and in 1954-52 the whole family was in Argentina, when the father was on a mission of the Jewish Agency, Seven years later, the family moved to the Negev capital and worked in the Beersheba Workers’ Council, as the coordinator of the Kindergartens and Dormitories Department, where Jonathan loved his home and his parents, and loved and loved nature. Yehonatan attended the Masada elementary school in the city and was a member of the Scouts movement and participated in sporting events with his peers, He studied at the Be’er Sheva Comprehensive School, where he went to a training course in Jalil, where he was trained and given a certificate, and took part in youth marches. In the 10th grade, the parents returned on a mission to Brazil with Jonathan, and during that time he grew up in Brazil, not only studying Portuguese and English, but also learning how to live in other countries and learning to understand various phenomena in this life. Yehonatan returned to Israel before his parents completed their mission in order to enter the 11th grade and made tremendous efforts to complete the material in order to successfully complete the school year, where he preferred biology and aspired to continue his research, To. Along with his inclinations of science, he also attracted the art of painting, and in his estate there were several paintings of his own. Jonathan was drafted into the IDF in August 1967 and assigned to the Armored Corps. On August 21, 1969, his vehicle boarded a mine in the area of ​​the Suez Canal and he fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. In a letter of condolences to the family, the unit commander, on behalf of Jonathan’s friends and commanders, wrote: “Friends, students and commanders ask, wonder: Will not he suddenly come back with a little dog that he promised to bring to the company? We think that all that bitter day is nothing but a dream – but in our daily lives there is no time for many dreams, and we continue our tours and missions, and the thought of Yoni and our other fallen comrades only gives validity to all those things for which we fell. We continue to fulfill our duty and with the knowledge of where we stand as a people and as a state fighting for a very strong existence What and fighting for her life in the hope of a peaceful future, when our sons no longer have, in June to give their lives. Be strong and courageous!” A special section entitled “How Heroes Fell” was dedicated to Jonathan in the publication of the comprehensive urban high school “Afikim in the Negev”; His name was also immortalized in the book “To Remember and Remind” – a hand to the graduates of the first high school in Be’er Sheva who fell in Israel’s wars; In 1970 the family published an album in memory of twelve paintings from his estate, which reflect the soul of Jonathan’s artist.
