Son of Shoshana and Shlomo, was born on May 5, 1932 in Tel Aviv, where he studied in an elementary school and from a young age began to work as a mechanic, and during the struggle with the British he installed Haganah weapons and moved them from place to place. Despite his youth – 16 years – he enlisted immediately after the United Nations General Assembly resolution of 29 November 1947 to divide the country into two states, despite the opposition of his relatives. “I want to fight like all the Israeli youth who are making their lives miserable,” he would reply. Yaakov was attached to the “Palmach” battalion of the Palmach, which operated in the Jerusalem area, and was sure that his forces and dangers attracted him and thus he did not neglect any battle in the area and demanded that he be included in it.In late April 1948, the “Yevusi” operation, In the city and between Jerusalem and the northern communities, and the Harel Brigade was transferred to Jerusalem, and on April 22-23, its forces attacked Shuafat, Beit Iksa and Nebi Samuel, and the attack lasted for a long time.
