Levi, Ilan

Ilan, son of Ellen and Hananiah Levi, was born in 1956 in Morocco. His family immigrated to Israel in 1965 and settled in Ashdod. In 1988, Ilan was recruited to the Border Police. After training in Beit Horon, he moved to serve in the SWAT unit as a cook, and later became the only gunman there, a position he held until his dying day. On the 3rd of Shevat (1.2.2006), Ilan died from pancreatic cancer, leaving behind his wife, their four children, his mother and his eight siblings. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in his city, Beit Shemesh.
