Levi, Gideon


Son of Sa’ida and Moshe. Gideon was born in 1947 in Iraq and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1951. He completed his high school in Rehovot, and in 1966 enlisted in the IDF and served in combat engineering. Between 1967 and 1970, Gidon studied at Bar-Ilan University and successfully completed his studies with a BA in Bible and Political Science, where he taught for four years at the Nes Tziona High School, and in 1974 he joined the ranks of the police. He joined the Fraud Investigation Unit and was considered one of the best investigators. Superintendent Gideon was killed on 28.2.1987 in a road accident while carrying out his duties. He was forty years old. He was buried in the cemetery in Nes Tziona. Survived by a wife: Batya, and three children: Shiri, Einan and Rakefet.
