Levi, Freddy (Fried)
Ben Rima and Zion. Fried (Freddy) Born in 1949 in Iraq, Freddy grew up in Jerusalem with his family and settled in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem, graduating from Ort Hanichim in 1967. In 1967 he joined the IDF. In the framework of duty Freddy served in the Border Police, and then signed a permanent. After completing his career, he enlisted in the Israel Police, and since then served for 20 years with great loyalty. In 1978, Freddy married Ruthie. In 1987 they moved to Ma’aleh Adumim, where they raised five children: Ophir, Lilach, Eliran, Lior and Aviad. Shortly after the move to Ma’aleh Adumim, Freddy suffered a serious illness. He died two years later, on the 11th of Tishrei 5710 (October 10, 1989). He was forty years old. Senior sergeant Freddy was buried in the military section of the Mount Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem. He left a wife and five children, parents, brothers and sisters. Freddy’s name was immortalized in a memorial to fallen soldiers in Ma’aleh Adumim.
