Levi, Ephraim


Ephraim, son of Sarah and Moshe Levi, was born on December 9, 1927 in Jerusalem. Ephraim graduated from the Geula elementary school and continued to study at the Beit Hakerem High School. He worked as a clerk and during his spare time studied engineering. During the Second World War he accepted the order of the National Institutions and enlisted in the British Army. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, Ephraim joined the Irgun Zvai Leumi (National Military Organization). On 25 Tevet, January 7, 1948 he went with his comrades to throw explosive devices near Jaffa Gate and Ephraim was hit. He was buried on Har Hazeisim.
