Levi, Benjamin (Benny)


Son of Sima and Gabriel. He was born on the 4th of Nissan 5727 (1967) in Jerusalem. Benjamin has attended elementary school in Jerusalem, where he continues in the junior high school under the name of Yonatan Netanyahu and at the Salisberg High School in mechanical engineering. Was an outstanding athlete, and represented the school in national and local competitions, where he won many trophies for his school. Was an outstanding runner in the ASA (Sports Team of the University) and was sent to competitions in Europe. He was assigned to the Infantry Brigade, Golani Brigade, completed a long and difficult basic training, continued with advanced training of the brigade and went on to continue his training as a combat soldier in a course for infantry commanders. He received the rank of corporal and returned to his unit for the 12th Battalion’s commanding officers, where he continued with his unit in training and operational activities, on the 10th of Elul 5747 (10.9.1987) he fell in the line of duty when he was 20. Benjamin was killed in a road accident From his home in Jerusalem to Kiryat Shmona, on his way to the unit where he served, and was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, where he left his parents, two brothers, Ran and Gil and sister Rinat.
