Levi , Batya

Daughter of Roza and Jacob, was born on April 2, 1933, in the Zichron Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem, where she studied at an elementary school of “Alliance” and when she completed her studies she began to learn sewing. “Protection” (only a year later she revealed the secret to her parents in a letter she left at home for a few days of training) and devotedly fulfilled all that was imposed on her in the framework of the Gadna. A girl knew a book and published essays in the movement’s pamphlets. A few days before her fall, she said to her mother, “Mother, if I die, do not cry – it’s for the homeland.” On the 8th of Sivan 5708 (June 8, 1948) she went to work in fortifications in Talpiot, and on the way she was hit by a shell and the doctors’ efforts to rescue her were unsuccessful. (10.9.1950) was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
