Levi (Avda), Yehezkel

Son of Daniel and Louisa. He was born on July 4, 1954 in Holon, where he studied at the son of-Zvi elementary school in Holon, and because of his family’s financial situation he was forced to leave school after completing compulsory studies and to work to help support the family. He worked in the factory for plastic products, but when he realized that his chances of advancement were zero and he did not find much satisfaction at work, he left the factory and began to work in plumbing and carpentry work. He was also a member of the carpentry department at the Lazarus club in Holon, where he built many different things in wood, such as barges, airplanes, etc. He also devoted time to another hobby – collecting stamps and coins – and used to review them and arrange them in albums, by subjects and countries. Yehezkel was a Simcha, sociable boy. He often socialized with his friends in the neighborhood and was always cheerful and Simcha with them. Shortly before his induction into the IDF he underwent a pre-military driving course, and Yehezkel was drafted into the IDF in mid-May 1973. After basic training, he was assigned to the Training Command, where he served as a driver. He was a good disciplined soldier. Every job he was assigned was done perfectly. He was loved by his friends and commanders in the unit for his social character, his kindness and his willingness to always help others. On the 22nd of Tamuz 5764 (22.6.1974), Yechezkel fell to the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents, three brothers and a sister.
