Levi, Abraham
Son of Mazal and Amrani. Abraham was born in Yemen in 1945. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1949, arrived at the Ein Shemer camp and stayed there for about ten months, and in 1962 Avraham enlisted in the IDF and served in the Israel Air Force until 1965. After his discharge he worked as an independent for a few months and then joined the Border Police on June 22, 1966. He liked to play soccer and go out with friends, to read books and watch television, and his commanders said he was a very active policeman.On 24 Tishrei, October 8, 1966, at approximately 23:00, explosions were heard from the direction of Wadi al-Hama in the area of Tiberias, and Avraham left with a Border Guard unit in the jeep to scan the area. The vehicle ran over a mine and he was killed on the spot. Avraham was twenty-one years old when he fell. He was buried in the Hadera cemetery.
