Levi, Abraham

Son of Chava and Akiva, was born on February 29, 1925, in the city of Lubranitz near Wloclawek, Poland When he was two months old, his parents immigrated to Israel and at the age of five he settled in the elementary school in the village, His parents transferred him to the school for the children of workers in Kfar Malal. When he was 13, he joined Hashomer Hatzair and at the age of 15, when he was in training at Kibbutz Gan Shmuel, he began his activities in the Haganah. He has devoted all his energies, talents and abilities to the security services. With the establishment of the Jewish Brigade in the British Army, he immediately joined the ranks and through which he traveled most of Western Europe, came into contact with the remnants of Judaism in the camps and brought them the Gospel of Zion. Upon his return from the Brigade, Avraham prepared to study at the Technion in Haifa and went to Jerusalem to study and train himself. He excelled in technical and organizational skills and had a great future in these fields. With the outbreak of the War of Independence after the United Nations General Assembly decided on 29 November 1947 to partition the country, he devoted himself energetically to the activities of the Haganah and as commander of the Gadna in Kfar Saba and its environs, spared no effort in organizing, He bought him a reputation mainly for his subordinates, who had a caring father. During the Passover holiday of 1948, he joined the Palmach and was sent to the Negev, and in one of the battles on Bir-Asluj (Revivim) on 4 June 1948, he and several other comrades fell on a minefield sown by Abraham was brought to rest at the Revivim military cemetery.
