Son of Zali and Eleonora. He was born on 24 November 1913 in Germany. After completing high school, he was accepted to the high school of art and studied architecture and applied graphics. He was a member of a Zionist youth movement and participated in the activities of Gordonia and Maccabi Hatzair. After graduating he worked in the offices of the Zionist institutions in Germany and did publicity and propaganda for them. In 1936 he immigrated to Israel and worked for the National Institutions in a Zionist propaganda studio. When the World War II broke out, he was sent by the Haganah to join the British army and was awarded the rank of sergeant of the cavalry. To escape and return to the ranks of the British army, and the British joined him in the unit of Hessua, where he served as an officer during the battles in the Western Desert and Italy and took part in the Har Cassino operations. After the establishment of the State of Israel, Shlomo was called to the headquarters of the Haganah and was asked to begin training people in the “Hasawah.” In May 1948 he was drafted into the IDF, From the Engineering Corps and was appointed to the head-Hsueh. In the course of his long and varied service in the Israel Defense Forces, where he served until his last day, he was the first graduating class of the School of Command and Staff, followed by the head of the Publications and Naming Branch. , Which opened in Paris on the subject of “The Jews in the Nazi Struggle.” He also planned the “Weapon Show” – the decade-long exhibition of the State of Israel – and took part in the preparation of the exhibition “20 Years of the IDF.” During the Yom Kippur War, he was appointed assistant to the head of the Center for Missing Persons. His last position began in 1974. He was involved in recruiting, caring and nurturing the youth of the periphery, a position he saw as a social challenge of the highest order and preceded many ideas and initiatives in this field. There is no doubt that many of the youth have become efficient citizens of Israeli society thanks to the patterns that Shlomo designed in this role. In his 30 years of service in the Israel Defense Forces, according to his commanding officer, a prominent line characterizes Shlomo’s roles – unconventional roles, roles in which he came to discover his artist, his deep Zionist consciousness, love of the land and his concern for a better society.
