Lev, Haran
Haran, son of Vered and Gabriel Lev, was born in Kibbutz Maayan Baruch in 1985. In late November 2004 Haran enlisted in the IDF and chose to serve in the armored corps together with his classmates . After completing basic training, he completed professional courses at the Armored Corps School, and after six months he moved to the Golan Heights and moved to the 53rd Battalion. At the end of the course, he moved to the 188th Brigade and served as a liaison officer in the 53rd Battalion. Haran traveled with his crew from one place to another about once every eight weeks, and his unit toured the Gaza area and then proceeded to patrol the area of the perimeter fence in the Golan Heights. On August 12, 2006, during the Second Lebanon War, Haran was killed when his tank was hit by Hizbullah terrorists. Haran was twenty years old when he fell. He was brought to rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz, Maayan Baruch. Survived by parents, brother and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
