Letster, Yoram


Yoram, son of Aliza (Margot) and Yitzhak (Kurt), was born on July 29, 1952 in Holon, where he studied at the Henkin Elementary School and later continued his studies at the ” New “in Holon. Yoram was a diligent student, volunteering a lot, assisting patients in hospitals and participating in an effort to help the weaker students in school. Yoram was drafted into the IDF at the end of October 1970 and assigned to the IDF Rayon. In basic training he was an outstanding trainee. After his basic training, he was trained in a training course for infantry officers and commanders.In Operational Service Mark (7.10.1973), on the “Lexicon” route – the Suez Canal Road, north of the Suez Canal, and on the route of the Suez Canal, during the Chinese Farm battle, Yoram fell in battle while on patrol on the canal road, and the armored personnel carrier under his command entered an enemy ambush. After a desperate battle, Yoram was hurt and fell. He was awarded the “Medal of Valor” for the discovery of heroism in carrying out his combat duties. At first he was considered missing, and his body was later found and he was buried in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery.
