Leshem, Elhanan
Son of Haim and Shoshana. He was born on 28.8.1942 in Petah Tikva. When he was four years old, the family moved to Kiryat Yam where he attended the “Urim” elementary school. Elhanan completed his studies at the “Sammat” high school in Haifa, where he was an enthusiastic member of the “Mahanot Ha’olim” pioneering youth movement and was drafted into the IDF in mid-October 1957, With a group of Nahal soldiers who joined Kibbutz Nativ in the Jerusalem corridor and built his home there, during which he underwent various courses – parachuting and advanced training – and became a regular parachutist. As if he were simply enjoying himself, Elchanan had a great deal of beauty over his surroundings: his sophistication, his efficiency and diligence, and especially his playing on the piano when he opened Accompanied by every Saturday and holiday party, and raffled his friends with singing and dancing, and he had musical talent and left a number of small orchestral works, and he also loved sports and took part in sports competitions at the kibbutz, basketball and volleyball teams. He was a sergeant in a heavy mortar unit on October 23, 1972. Sgt. Elhanan fell in the line of duty, leaving a wife and three children, and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Meshko . In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “For about ten years we have gone a long way with him – when we meet Elhanan in times of tension and calm and joy … We will always remember the serious Elhanan, who is not losing his temper, To help his friends – Elhanan the minister and the manager to coordinate the entire battalion around him. ” Kibbutz Netiv HaLamed Hey published a pamphlet in his memory.
