He was drafted into the IDF in August 1954, and during his training in a training course in the framework of the Academic Reserve, he fell in combat near Dweima on the 10th of Tishrei, 5710 (10.9.1956). The memory of Moshe Nahum was immortalized by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in awarding a prize in his name at the beginning of each academic year for the outstanding student in law school. The Faculty Library also includes a memorial plaque and a photograph of it by the Student Committee in the fourth year of the faculty.
