Leon, Moshe-Zecharya


Moshe-Zecharya, son of Devora and Nachman Leon, was born in Poland on 20.8.1920 and he immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1936. In World War II, he joined the British army, serving as a supply unit manager in Haifa, (The British Shekem). In 1946 he was discharged, settled in Tel Aviv and worked in the “Ha’argaz” cooperative painting cars. Moshe-Zecharya was a member of the Haganah and a member of the Israel Defense Forces in Tel Aviv in the “Kiryati” Brigade. He fell from a sniper’s bullet in the battle of Abu Kabir on 4 Adar II, 15 March 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak. He left behind his wife.
