Leder, Eran


Ben Yehudit and Moshe. He was born on the 30th of Tammuz 5762 (30.6.1972) in Kiryat Motzkin. He studied at the Habonim elementary school in Kiryat Bialik and in the Dafna junior high school. Afterward, he completed his high school studies at the Yad Natan boarding school. Eran was a lively and handsome young man. He dreamed of being a kibbutznik and setting up a horse farm. He was very fond of animals, and was especially sensitive when he encountered animal abuse. Eran was very devoted to his friends and was very careful to cultivate friendships. He did everything to keep in touch with friends from childhood in spite of time circumstances. At the beginning of August 1990, Eran was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the General Staff, after which he was sent to a unit in the Northern Command in various capacities, and he was a diligent soldier with a strong and charismatic personality. On January 23, 1991, Eran fell to the military cemetery in Haifa and left behind his parents and brother. In a letter of condolences to the family, his commander wrote: “Eran arrived at the unit about four months ago, full of energy and a smile on his face. He performed his role as a model, liked his friends and commanders, showed dedication, diligence and caring. In a number of cases, he volunteered to stay beyond the usual working hours, in order to complete the task assigned to him. Eran helped his friends wherever he could. “
