He was involved in family life, shared doubts and always helped. When he was at home, the house was bustling with life and Eli was the mainstay, and everything moved around him. Eli helped, accompanied, and cared for people who needed his help – from an ultra-Orthodox religious soldier who intended to leave the army because of his lack of motivation and Eli convinced him to stay and end with a mentally handicapped young man who was attached to Eli because of his sheer concern and human attitude. He did all his actions with humility and complete humility; And his behavior and way of life stemmed mainly from the depths of his heart and the arrays that had been embedded in him since he was born. As a person who grew up and was educated on the values of love of the land and love of man, it was only natural for him to want to enlist in a combat unit. His parents asked him to give up because of their great concern, but his fighting spirit and command figure led him to serve as a skilled combatant in an elite unit. At the end of March 2000, Eli enlisted in the IDF, thanks to his high rank, the elite unit of the Military Police, the Combat Unit, and the highly motivated soldiers, the coolness and the desire to be involved in unusual and important activities. Upon completionThe course was awarded to him as a unit pin – ‘Force 100’ and he began his service in the detention facility. “Eli served in the Megiddo Prison for about three years as a combat soldier and as a commander in an intervention force, which is a professional and skilled intervention team,” said the unit’s commander, who served as a combat soldier. Professional and high quality, with a high physical ability and a strong desire to meet any challenge and task Eli took part as a commander in training the establishment of a new team, during which he trained a team of fighters who continue to follow in his path. The soldiers of his unit saw him as a loyal friend and a supportive shoulder and cherished his human qualities. “I will always remember you as a person who is supportive, smiling, optimistic, who loves to give …” “I remember you only smiling,” he says, Happy, always with confidence, always willing to help. ” Eli’s commanders saw him as an asset, recognized his ambition, and predicted a promising and brilliant future for him. Eli planned to continue to serve in the regular army after a one-month lull he planned to do in Thailand – “to clear the head of all pressure,” as he puts it. But when he was on leave, a suicide bomber blew up Eli’s dreams and devoured his life. On the 5th of Adar 2, 5763 (5.3.2003) Eli fell in a terrorist attack in Haifa at the age of twenty-one, and Eli made his way to the Carmel Hospital to visit his sick grandfather, In Haifa at the university At around 14:15, when the driver stopped at the bus station in the heart of the Carmel on Moriya Boulevard, one of the busiest in the route, a suicide bomber from Hamas, who was on the bus, detonated the explosive belt he was carrying and blew himself up. Eli was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister. The unit commander eulogized him: “We will always remember the confident stance, the glowing gaze and the determination that characterized you so much. In training and in the unit, in counting and searching, in the burning sun and under a heavy rain, you were like a pillar of fire before the camp. The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Moshe Ya’alon, wrote to the family: “Elijah was described by his commanders as an outstanding fighter and an excellent commander, who had the ability to lead, contributed to his surroundings from his experience and was a model He was loved and loved by all who knew him. ” From a poem he wrote to the memory of his brother’s brother, Oren: “A great explosion blew up the state of war, while the messenger of God was in his last journey. In the form of a man, he was a human angel who descended from above to save my soul. In the midst of the storm / The voice of the messenger of God is not heard / And the light in the eyes is not visible / But the great soul, in contrast to everything, remains. ” “When Eli was alive / life was much better / When Eli was alive / Life would be happy / When Eli was alive / We were all united / When we knew that Eli was injured in the attack / We all had a longing / When we knew that Eli was seriously injured / Always were LenAnd hopes. “” In the case of Eli, when he was born in Carmel Hospital in Haifa and on his way to Carmel Hospital, he died of the sanctification of his God’s name. “God is sorry for the children of the Garden,” he once wrote in an old poem, Apparently God chooses the children to protect them and the children who will defend him with the world.
