Son of Meir and Rosa. Born on 15 July 1941 in Stalingrad, Russia, he immigrated to Israel with his family in 1957. After basic training, he was trained in an advanced jet fighter mechanic course. After that he was sent to a parachuting course and a helicopter course. But when the Six-Day War broke out he returned to his unit because he felt a strong need to fly again. In 1968 Moshe was sent to an officers’ course and upon his return returned to the unit. He served in the Stratocruiser squadron and during the Yom Kippur War he moved to the Hercules squadron. His promotion was quick, and his commanders saw him as an officer and an excellent professional. Every year Moshe extended his volunteer service to the career army and aspired to a brilliant military and professional future. In 1965 Moshe married Miriam, and two years later his first daughter, Sigalit, was born. In 1970 his son Dror was born, and three years later his daughter Lilach was born. Moshe was a dedicated and responsible father and managed to find a way to divide his time between his military role and family life. Moshe did not manage to take the matriculation exams before he enlisted in the IDF, and therefore he wanted to study in various professions during his service, and he devoted every spare moment to his studies.
