Lapidot, Israel
Son of Yona and Meir, was born on the 17th of Sivan, 13.6.1930 in Tel Aviv. He graduated from Nes Tziona Elementary School in Tel Aviv, moved to son of Shemen and studied there for two years. Afterward, he specialized in the art of engraving. At the beginning of the War of Independence, he volunteered for the army and served in the Givati Brigade. Fought in the south, participated in escorting convoys to Jerusalem and the conquest of the Castel. Stood out in his devotion and willingness to undertake any mission. Israel lost his life in a traffic accident between Rehovot and Tel Aviv on April 23, 1948. He was buried in Gedera. On the 19th of Tammuz 5710 (22.6.1950) he was put to rest at the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
