Lansman (Landesman), Yosef (Yizik)
Son of Gena-Freida and Meir, was born on the 16th of Kislav, December 18, 1929 in Sosnowiec, Poland. In 1940, during World War II, when he was about ten, the family managed to reach Eretz Israel. He served in the Givati Brigade, took a commanding course and was sent to operations on the southern front. In the last weeks of his life Yosef was in Negba, taking part in the defense of the place during the difficult battles, and in those days he recorded events in his diary every day, describing the difficulties. Yosef fell in defense of Negba on the 10th of Tammuz 5708 (13.7.1948) and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Negba.
