Langer, Yehuda (Paul)

Langer, Yehuda (Paul)

Son of Ernst and Irena. He was born on July 26, 1962 in the city of Brno, Czechoslovakia. After graduating from elementary school and reaching the fifth grade in high school, the Germans invaded Czechoslovakia and he could not continue his studies. His father perished in a concentration camp in Germany in 1945 and his mother and two sons survived. At the beginning of the War of Independence he enlisted in the Hagana service in Czechoslovakia and entered the pilots’ course. After finishing his course in 1949, he immigrated to Israel with his mother (the younger brother was then in England). He was drafted into the IDF in December 1950. After completing compulsory service, he joined the regular army in the Israel Air Force with the rank of lieutenant, and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa.
