Landwer, Aryeh


He was born in 1921 in Kolomyya, Poland, the only son of an educated family. His father was a Hebrew teacher, he graduated from an economics school in his hometown and earned an accountant’s degree. He joined the Polish army in his country. In 1942 he arrived in Palestine via the Soviet Union, with the Polish Army under the command of General Anders. He joined the Lehi under the name Uzi on 19 Sivan, June 17, 1946. He was killed in an attack on the railway workshops in Haifa, and his name was immortalized in the book “Unknown Soldiers.”
