Landesman, Nir (Nirtzi)

Landesman, Nir (Nirtzi)

Son of Talia and Zvi. He was born on 21.5.1984 at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, a handsome baby, the third of four Landesman children, a younger brother to Roi and Ze’ev, and later an older brother to Hadas. When Nir completed basic training he was assigned to a prestigious post in the operations room of the Shfifon battalion. Nir was assigned to the position of operations sergeant, which is the legacy of the veteran soldiers, and as early as his career in the unit, he was characterized by the professionalism, responsibility and spirit required in this role. His charisma, his generosity, his occupying smile, his sense of humor, the openness and respect he gave to the environment, made him an admired figure of his friends and commanders. On that terrible night, the night between Thursday and Friday, Nir spent his time at a party at the ultrasound club in Yagur. After a few minutes, a car coming from the direction of the car turned into Nir’s path, unaware of the danger, sitting in the back seat. He ws killed on the 12th day of Cheshvan 5764 (November 7, 2003) at the age of 19. He was buried in the military cemetery Haifa. Survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
