Landau, Israel-Wolf


Son of Meralda and Pesach. He was born in 1910 in the village of Shepetova in Poland and grew up in a Hasidic Zionist family, where he studied at a yeshiva, then specialized in carpentry, and immigrated to Uruguay in 1931. When World War II broke out he joined the Polish battalion that was established in Canada. He was murdered on 28 Shvat, 11.1.1946, in Belgium and buried in Antwerp, and was immortalized in the “Brigade Book” and the “Book of Volunteerism.”
