Landau, Israel Pinhas-David

Son of Simo and Etel. He was born on September 15, 1935, in the city of Dorna-Vatra, Romania. He graduated from elementary school and attended the Gymnasium in the same city. Although he was educated before his arrival in Israel, he was infused with an anti-Zionist spirit in the schools in Romania, preparing for the great event by preparing himself spiritually and mentally as part of the Hanoar Hazioni Movement, where he also learned the Hebrew language. The family immigrated to Israel in 1950. Five months later, his mother died; He and his younger brother were found in the “Aliyat Hanoar” institutions in Jerusalem. In the institution he studied various works and dealt with them, and the day he completed his term in the institution was approaching, and he deliberated about the problems of the future. He did not like the agricultural work, and since he was not satisfied with the various places of work in the city, he decided to leave early for military service. In March 1952, he enlisted so that he could choose the route he would take. However, he did not achieve this, because on 15 May 1952 he died and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
