Son of Moshe and Chaya. He was born on May 15, 1947 in Stockholm, Sweden, and immigrated with his family to Israel in 1949. His parents were of a strictly Hassidic family and his father did everything he could to transfer the spirit of Hasidism to David. He studied at the Talmud Torah Zikhron Meir in Bnei Brak and at the high school yeshiva in Kfar Haroeh, where he was one of the outstanding students, and after graduating he went to study at the Torah school “Kerem Devana” near Yavneh David was drafted into the IDF in July 1966. He joined the Nahal Brigade and was part of the paratrooper Nahal Brigade and participated in the Karameh operation and other activities. However, even during his service in the Nahal he did not forget Tzur – his quarry and at every free moment he would sit and study Torah, where he would combine the teachings of Safra and Seifah. He was a devoted friend of his friends and two days before they fell, when he had to take a vacation that he had not received for three months. He postponed his departure for a week, because one of his friends had to go home to attend his father’s memorial service. On May 8, 1969, he was killed by enemy shelling in the area of ​​the Suez Canal, and was brought to eternal rest in Zichron Meir. The rabbi of the city of Bnei Brak, the heads of the Yeshivas, and the mayor of Bnei Brak, eulogized him on his grave, and on the anniversary of his death a booklet of Divrei Torah was printed in memory of David Landau, And his brother-in-law donated books and books to the “Ma’amar Mordechai” yeshiva, a fund was established in his name “Keren- David “, from which loans are granted to the needy and a fund was established in memory of the granting of scholarships to the students of the” Kerem Divana “Yeshiva.
