Lachovitzky, Joseph (“Yossi”)

Son of Mordechai and Tzipora. He was born on May 5, 1948 in Lanzberg, Germany, and at the end of that year immigrated with his parents to Israel, where he began studying at the Gordon Elementary School in Neve Amal and after graduating from the ” Yefe’ir “youth movement near Kfar Vitkin, where he was fond of wood carving and metalworking, and was drafted into the army in August 1966 and on the 16th of March 191967 he fell during his service in the unit’s camp. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. The commander of his unit noted in the letter of condolence to the family that Yosef had worked with great devotion for more than a year and performed his duties beyond what was required in the daily work. The commander continues to point out that he was able to trust Joseph in various works, and therefore he was entrusted with tasks that required responsibility and he insisted on them.
