Lachmi, Ronen
The eldest son of Jonah and Chaim. Ronen was born on December 9, 1966 in Hadera. He was educated at the “Kaplan” school and later graduated from “Amal Hadera” high school. Already in his childhood he began to develop his great love for physical fitness and body development. At the end of his studies Ronen asked to enlist in a combat unit and arrived at the Border Police. At the end of compulsory service he continued to set up and served as a combat soldier in the Judea and Samaria Border Police for nineteen years, during which he grew up in his various positions from one combat soldier to the other. Ronen was a beloved man in the company with extraordinary skills. As a professional he left his mark everywhere. He welcomed everyone, gave the best service, loved his fellow policemen, and appreciated them. Ronen had three children: Almog, from his first marriage, Topaz and Tahar from his second marriage, and to them was joined by Shelly, whom he adopted as his daughter. Ronen raised his children and built his house with both hands. He cultivated the front of the house in a green garden. His house was open and he liked to entertain. With his parents Ronen kept in close contact, took care of them and respected them as befits his character. He served as a central axis in his family. Ronen was a kind man, loved by people and always wanted to be a partner in all the help and giving. He did everything for his family and friends, was everyone’s address for help and often rejected all his plans for others. Ronen loved sports and took part in fitness competitions, so he ran long distances. The tradition of body training was also imparted to his children, always talked about the importance of maintaining the body and health. Among other things, he would go out with his children for running and cycling. In addition he was very fond of dancing folk dances. His love for the field led him to dance no less than three times a week. In folk dance circles, Ronen was a virtuoso of the dance floor, and everyone loved to be around him. On 17 March 2006, Ronen was critically injured in a traffic accident at the junction of Menashe (Karkur). He was rushed to the Hillel Yaffe hospital and after a few hours was transferred to the hospital at Tel Hashomer. For two weeks he struggled with the serious injury, his body was strong but the head injury hit him and he died on March 31, 2006. Senior sergeant Ronen was forty years old and he was buried in the Hadera military cemetery. A woman and four children, parents and two brothers.
