Kwalek, Igor


Ben Tatiana and Lev. He was born on May 18, 1980 in Minsk, Belarus. When he was 10 years old, in 1990, he immigrated to Israel with his parents and younger sister Julia. The family lived in Nazareth Illit, On August 28, 2002, Igor was discharged from the IDF, passed a public transportation security course and since 2003 has worked as a public transportation security guard in the Northern District, and has worked as a personal security guard for the Minister of Justice. He completed his first year of studies, volunteered as an instructor in the “Aharei!” Organization, which runs a leadership program for hundreds of youth, and rented an apartment with a friend in Jaffa. The trainees were captivated by his charm and Igor was widely praised for his performance. Igor loved the State of Israel and was loyal to it. Following the kidnapping of Corporal Gilad Shalit and the kidnapping of two reserve soldiers, Ehud (Udi) Goldwasser and First Sergeant Eldad Regev and the outbreak of the Second Lebanon War, Igor was eager to receive an “Order 8” and join his fighters in Lebanon. On August 2, 2006, he was called up for reserve service from which he did not return. After a week of battles in south Lebanon, on August 9, 2006, Sergeant Sergeant Igor Kwalik fell in a battle that took place near Taibe. He was twenty-six when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Upper Nazareth cemetery. Survived by his parents, sister and many friends. A series of leadership conducted by “Follow Me!” Where the participants experienced complex military exercises and combat fitness exercises, was signed on a stretcher expedition in Ma’ale Hacarmel dedicated to Igor’s memory.
