Kutigero, Benyamin


Binyamin, son of Bracha and David Kutigero, was born on the 11th of Iyar, 5661 (28.4.1931) in Romania. He grew up in a Zionist atmosphere and while still young he aspired to immigrate to Eretz Israel. Binyamin belonged to the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement and arrived in Israel in 1946. Upon his arrival he joined Kibbutz Dalia and was a devoted and loyal friend of his movement and kibbutz. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, Benyamin joined the ranks of fighters and fought in the 7th Brigade. He participated in Operation son of-Nun Bet, the second attack on the Legion in Latrun. Benyamin fell in this battle, onthe 21st of Iyar, May 30, 1948. On the 25th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was transferred to eternal rest, with his comrades in battle, in a mass grave in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
