Son of-Esther and Shimon, veteran farmers and members of the Second Aliya, was born on 24 October 1922 in Jerusalem and grew up in Kfar Yechezkel where his parents had an agricultural farm. In his extensive tour of the country, he discovered various species and varieties of plants that had not yet been known in Israel, and over time he acquired comprehensive knowledge in all his life. Areas of growth in Israel and in botany at a high level in general, after graduating from high school in Netanya Tuvia studied biology, and in the first two years of his studies he amazed his teachers with his knowledge, and his research aroused the admiration of prominent professionals, and his teacher, Professor Adler, found him to be a genius, His ideas and discoveries in the science of biology provide a great deal of work for the researchers who follow him.Tovia went to the army in recognition that in times of war for the people and the country there was no other way, although he was very sorry for the precious ” Between one combat action and another, conceived and learned. He participated in many activities for the defense of Jerusalem and was recently among the members of the “Halachah” Department, Palmach and Hachash fighters who were sent as reinforcements to Gush Etzion after the large attack on the Bloc on January 14, 1948. The fighters left Hartov on the night of 15-16 In January, they were loaded with weapons, ammunition and equipment, but due to the late hour of departure and the difficulties, they were unable to reach Gush Katif in the early hours of the morning. The fighters organized themselves on one of the hills (the “Battle Hill” today) and fought with the masses of Arabs until they all fell in battle on the day of the 15th of Shevat 5708 (16.1.1948). Tuvia was buried in a mass grave in Kfar Etzion. On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949), he was transferred to eternal rest with the rest of the Bloc in the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
