Kupermintz, Yitzchak (Itche)


Yitzchak (Itche), son of Esther Leah and Avraham Kupermintz, was born on 16.9.1924 in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and had a high school education. He went through the events of the Second World War and the horrors of the Holocaust and joined the Po’alei Zion movement at the end of the war. Yitzchak was sent to Cyprus where he was a member of Kibbutz Po’alei Zion. He arrived in Israel in November 1947. Until his enlistment he worked as an agricultural laborer. Yitzchak served in the Alexandroni Brigade and fell in the battle for the conquest of Kakun by the Iraqi forces on 26 Iyar 5708 (June 4, 1948). He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
