Kuperman, Chaim


Son of Attil and Menahem, was born in Tel Aviv in 1925. After completing elementary school, he continued his studies in high school classes on behalf of Hanoar Haoved, and went on to Kibbutz hachshara and later immigrated to Kibbutz Manara and from there joined the Palm And served there for five consecutive years in various places in all parts of the country, from Metula to Sodom. He completed various courses and reached the rank of MP On a Palmach mission he went to Italy and joined the illegal immigration organization. Where he also completed a professional-naval training course and returned to Israel as commander of an illegal immigrant ship. After the battles of the War of Independence he participated with the Harel Brigade in the battles for the breakthrough to Jerusalem. When he was wounded in the leg in a battle for a eunuch, he was not able to remove him from the battlefield and continued to command his platoon with his leg bleeding until his deputy arrived. When he recovered, he returned to combat duty. He was wounded in the battle for Katamon and died of his wounds on the day of the 22nd of Nissan 5708 (1.5.1948). He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim. After he fell, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant. His memory was raised in a book published by Kibbutz Manara in memory of its fallen.
