Korsch, Yehia (Yechiel)
Son of Yahya and Zahara. He was born in 1939 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel in 1949. In the early years he studied at the Yeshiva in Rishon Letzion and later moved to an educational institution in Mishmar Ha’emek and finally to Kibbutz Sasa, where he was drafted into the IDF in May 1960 and volunteered for the paratroopers’ . He then moved to the Carmel Patrol. After his discharge from the army, he would go to reserve duty and within this framework would be at the outbreak of the Six-Day War. On the second day of her battles, he was on the 6th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), and he died in his role as a Topolov plane crashed in the northern camp. He left a wife and two small children. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
