Koren, Abraham
Son of Yehiel-David and Zahava. A rabbi’s niece from Kechenow in Poland. Born on the day of the Rebbe’s death on February 13, 2121, in the city of Ozerkov, Poland, the family immigrated to Israel in 1925. He was educated at the Tachkemoni elementary school in Tel Aviv and continued his evening classes until he finished high school. Before the War of Independence, he served as a guard, was a sportsman and was a leader in the religious sports association “Elitzur.” He was also inclined to literature and art, showing engineering talents in preparing plans for various machines, and following the ultra-Orthodox, as evidenced by his adherence to religion, He was a regular donor to the Blood Bank for ten years, He was employed as a manager for the factory in the polishing department and was drafted into the IDF in June 1948 But he continued to serve in the regular army as a sergeant major, died on March 29, 1959. He was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving a wife and two daughters.
