Kop, Ephraim-Fishel


Son of Rachel and Zvi, was born on July 10, 1928 in Turobin, near Lublin, Poland. During the month of Elul, he immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1936. After completing the Tachkemoni elementary school in Tel Aviv and his parents’ difficult financial situation, he went to work at a young factory in the framework of the “Beitar” organization. He became active in Betar and later moved to the ranks of the Irgun and participated in its activities. With the outbreak of the War of Independence he left his job and enlisted in full service. As he stood guard at a dangerous post on the Tel Aviv border, he fell from an enemy bullet on the day of Kislev 5708 (8 December 1948). He was laid to rest at the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery.
