Koko, Gil


Marcel and David’s youngest son. He was born on the 27th of Shevat 5743 (10.2.1983) in Ashdod. Brother to Ronen Yaakov, Shirley and Orly. He grew up in Ashdod. He studied at the Arazim State School, and went on to the Rogozin High School. Gil was a naughty and friendly boy. From an early age he discovered independence, but was very attached to his family. At school, he stood out as a leader and arranged for his friends for parties and excursions. Was stubborn and adhering to his goals. Gil loved surfing the sea and riding motorcycles. Even when he was a high school student, he would come to school on a scooter. At the beginning of August 2001, Gil enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and was stationed in the air force. After completing his basic training, he was assigned to an aircraft mechanic course, which was supposed to pass at the IAF Technical School, but did not have time to participate. Gil died during his duty on Wednesday 21 October 2001 after being critically injured in a car accident, and the doctors at Kaplan Hospital struggled for six days, but their efforts failed. Was buried in the Ashdod military cemetery, leaving a father, a brother and two sisters.
