Kogan, Gennady

Ben Galina and Yosef. He was born on February 29, 1976 in Kiev, Ukraine. Brother to Irina. In 1991, when he was 15, Gennady immigrated with his family, who settled in Yavne. He studied at the Amit High School in Yavneh, where he continued to the Ahuzat Yaakov Technological College in Gan Yavneh, where he studied for two years in electronics. A month after graduating from college, in July 1994, Gennady joined the IDF as a security guard and was sent to an electronics course in the Air Force. Only a month ago he was able to serve as an apprentice in the course, and according to his commanders, he was a dedicated soldier who performed well on every mission and was admired by his friends. On June 10, 1996, Gennady fell during his service. He was twenty years old when he fell. Survived by his parents and sister – Irina. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ofakim. After his death, his cousin Larissa wrote: “A person must start an active life in order to leave a mark, but Gennady was not enough, your life stopped at the age of twenty, and we can not believe it.
