Koei, Abraham

Son of Shoshana and Yosef, was born in 1925 in Yemen and was educated there in the spirit of tradition. In 1944 Avraham immigrated to Israel and settled in metal work. Was pleased with his lifebut was eager to see his parents in Palestine. In the meantime he married and raised a family. In the winter of 1948, with the outbreak of the War of Independence, he joined the ranks of the Golani Brigade and took part in operations in Tirat Zvi and elsewhere, and in the Jenin sector, where he fell on 25 Iyar, June 3, 1948. He was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Afula, and when his parents immigrated to Israel, they did not find him alive.
