Kobi, Idan
Ben Esther and Isaac. He was born on July 9, 1980, On November 19, 1998, Idan volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. After completing basic training, he went to combat paramedics, as a natural continuation of his habit of helping and caring for everyone. In 1999, in a training accident, his friend Oron Partok was seriously injured. Idan tried to take care of him, but his efforts to save him failed and Oron died. This event gaped a great wound in the heart of Idan. Since then, each year, Idan traveled to the “Kanot” boarding school and took part in the IDF Memorial Day ceremony, and on the following day he went to Safed to visit Oron’s family, and was released from the IDF in November 2001. “Idan fell during the Second Lebanon War in South Lebanon on the 9th of Av 2006. And his fellow fighters went up to the village of Debel, and an anti-tank missile fired from the Hizballah terrorists hit the building they were in. It ended Idan’s life and the lives of eight other fighters. Idan was twenty-six when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Eilat. Survived by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. After his fall he was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
