Knafo, Shalom


Ben Farcha and Joseph was born in Rabat, Morocco on May 4, 1935.Shalom was drafted into the IDF in April 1953 and was assigned to serve in the Armored Corps, and after two years he volunteered for a regular service with the rank of major sergeant. Shalom participated in the Sinai Campaign, the Six-Day War and the battles of attrition on the banks of the Canal. In the Yom Kippur War he served in the Northern Command. During his military service, he married Ditza, and she and their five children accompanied him along his military career. Shalom fell in the line of duty on 9/10/1979, was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya, and was survived by his wife, three daughters, two sons, a mother, brothers and sisters.
