Kloner, Tanchum


Son of Esther and Baruch, was born in 1920 in Vilna (which belonged to Poland at that time) and graduated from high school. In 1938 he immigrated to Israel. Upon his arrival in Israel he joined the Nutras. Tanchum was a soldier from birth and one of the first soldiers to enlist in the War of Independence. He served in an anti-tank artillery unit. He took part in blocking the Syrian forces who invaded the Jordan Valley and fell in Zemach on the third day of the State of Israel on May 17, 1948. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Tiberias.
