Kliger, Dov


Son of Sarah and Moshe, was born on April 27, 1945 in Lenina-Gorsk, Russia, where his family fled Poland when World War II broke out. After the war his family returned to Poland, where Dov attended elementary school in grades 1-6. In 1957 his family immigrated to Israel. The family lived briefly in the transit camp until it moved to Moshav Ramat Raziel in the Jerusalem hills. Dov attended the Kiryat Anavim regional elementary school in grades 7 and 8, and later moved to the agricultural high school in Ein Kerem. He continued his studies at the Air Force Technical School in Haifa from 1962 until his enlistment. Dov was drafted into the IDF in January 1965, served in the Israel Air Force, passed an electrical systems course, and in October 1965 he was promoted to corporal. He took part in the Six-Day War. After his discharge from the IDF, Dov returned to Moshav Ramat Raziel and worked in the moshav’s egg store during all the years he lived in Ramat Raziel, Dov was very active in public affairs and volunteered to fill many positions with enthusiasm and contagious enthusiasm. He worked in a factory in the Israeli Air Force for about ten years and moved to work in a factory in Bnei Brak, but wanted to be independent and together with a partner in the opening of a manufacturing plant On Aug. 6, 1981, he was called up for reserve duty, and on August 17, after a vacation at his home, Dov Shein complained On the following day, 18 August 1981, his comrades found him dead in the army base, at the age of 36. He was buried at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, and he left behind him. Raya, two sons and a brother, the commander of his unit wrote to his family: “Dov was dedicated, diligent and responsible, right to help others.”
