Son of Shprintza and Menahem. He was born on December 31, 1907 in Warsaw, where he attended Hebrew school and at a young age he began studying mechanics and behavior. In 1932 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and worked in the “Blatt” cooperative. In 1936 he was accepted as a member of the “transferor” cooperative and worked in the garage as a car repair specialist.
