Son of Moshe and Ora. He was born on May 4, 1953 in Haifa. Amir began studying at the Reali School in Haifa. When he was nine, his parents went on a state mission to Nigeria, and Amir continued his studies in Lagos, first in the Israeli school that opened there, and later in an American school there. When he was 14, he returned to Israel alone and continued his studies at the military boarding school near the Reali School and completed the biological track. Amir liked to draw and left many wonderful paintings in his estate.
