Klausner, Ohad

Ohad, son of Orit and Israel Klausner, one of the founders of Beit Horon in the Judean Hills, was born in the Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem on December 22, 1985. At the beginning of the war Ohad and his comrades were sent to Lebanon and participated in one of the most difficult and heroic battles of the Second Lebanon War. Ohad fell in a battle in Bint Jbeil on July 26, 2006. In the fierce battle that lasted six hours, face to face and heavy fire from all directions, Ohad and his friends managed to defeat Hezbollah terrorists, kill more than forty of them and destroy several launchers. Ohad was twenty-one when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by parents, sister and brother. After his fall he was promoted to First Sergeant.
