Klaptan, Ze’ev (Wova)


Son of Mina and Meir, was born on the 12th of Kislav, December 4, 1919 in the city of Brody, Galicia, Poland. He immigrated to Israel in 1936. At the beginning of the War of Independence he did his part to defend Holon. With the establishment of the State, he enlisted and served in the “Kiryati” brigade and participated in several battles on the central front. On the third of Tammuz 5708 (10.7.1948) he was killed in a battle in the Beit-Nabala area. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak. He left behind a wife, Leah, and a child.
