Kirshenbaum, Jacob

Son of Zvi and Shifra. He was born on October 6, 1942 in Jerusalem. As a boy, the family moved to Ramat Gan. He studied at the Kalai High School in Givatayim and completed his studies there. He excelled in the real professions, especially in chemistry. The unknown attracted him, and he strove to expose the unknown and dive into the depths of science – not for a career – and his perseverance was an example of his friends. He belonged to the Scouts movement and was an outstanding athlete. His wish was reading books and studying them. He was humble and modest and did not show his knowledge. Devoted to his parents and looking after their future with all his Lev; He was also devoted to his relatives on the kibbutz and loved the village and the countryside. As a friend he was no better than him and everything was popular and beloved. In July 1961, he was drafted into the IDF and served with full responsibility and dedication in the Paratroopers Brigade because he believed that many of his physical and mental qualities could contribute to this corps, but he did not extend his service because he fell during the performance of his duties on June 5, 1962, Forever in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His memory was mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
